Pre.sentient Technologies Ltd, developer of the first Real-time Trial Analysis Platform, blinded to all humans, today announced the appointment of Dr. Yannis Jemiai as Strategic Advisor.
Dr. Jemiai brings more than two decades of experience in biostatistics, clinical trial methodology and drug development. He spent 20 years at Cytel, most recently as Chief Scientific Officer, where he led strategic consulting and helped advance the adoption of adaptive and innovative trial designs across the industry. He is co-founder and Chief Data Science Officer of Lutetia Therapeutics, and advises several companies in clinical trial technology and life sciences.
A Harvard-trained biostatistician, Dr. Jemiai holds a Ph.D. in Biostatistics and an A.B. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Harvard University, and an M.P.H. from Columbia University. His work spans adaptive and complex innovative trial designs, Bayesian methods, causal inference, quantitative decision-making and regulatory science.
As Strategic Advisor, Dr. Jemiai will provide periodic input to Pre.sentient’s leadership team on the statistical methodology underpinning the platform and on its positioning with biopharma sponsors.
“Yannis’s experience in bringing statistical innovation into practice in a complex, regulated industry will be a valuable perspective as we continue to develop our Real-time Trial Analysis Platform and work to transform the clinical trial ecosystem,” said Dr. Tom Coates, CEO of Pre.sentient.
“Getting interim decisions right has always been central to good trial design. Pre.sentient’s approach of making those decisions earlier while keeping the data fully blinded is an interesting one, and I’m glad to offer a sounding board to Tom and the team,” said Dr. Jemiai.
About Pre.sentient
Pre.sentient Technologies is a London-based clinical trial technology company building software to improve the speed, efficiency, and precision of drug development. Its Real-time Trial Analysis Platform enables autonomous interim analysis to support earlier, better-informed clinical trial decisions.
Pre.sentient is the first to run autonomous rolling interim analyses on unblinded data inside a sealed enclave. No human sees results until a prespecified signal emerges: futility, success, safety or an adaptation such as SSR. Their method suffers 5x less power loss and recovers >1.5x the calendar time compared to midpoint analysis using conditional power, enabling decision-making up to 12 months earlier.
